Hi, It’s Me

Michelle Bennett is an American photographer and portrait artist based in Minneapolis.  Beginning her career on the north shore, Michelle drew most of her inspiration from the wild and untamable landscape of her surroundings. Her work focuses on connection to the subject, creatively framing them within their environment. Desiring a more dramatic aesthetic than others, her stand alone style began attracting prominent Minnesota brands and small businesses. As her work progressed, she began applying that same photographic style to portraiture and quickly developed a client base of artists, craftsmen, and musicians.

Having established a place for herself at the intersection of photography and music, she went on to attend Berklee College of Music, studying artist management. Her education plus her ability to provide art direction and styling cemented Michelle as a go-to photographer for Americana artists within the midwest region. Known mostly for her work with natural light, Michelle also experiments with low light environments, manipulating incandescent light sources and reflective surfaces to create the more dreamlike and painterly portraits popular with her musical clientele.
